Research and innovation project · Abruzzo ERDF Regional Programme 2021-2027

A research and innovation project connecting human, animal and environmental health data through a digital platform powered by artificial intelligence.

This project is carried out with European funds of the Abruzzo Region.

The project

The health of people, animals and the environment is closely interconnected. Building on this vision, known as the One Health approach, OneHealth.AI integrates information that is currently spread across different systems and sectors.

The platform will collect and analyse data from public and veterinary health, the environment, emergency services and agri-food supply chains, to detect risk signals and support faster, better-coordinated decisions.

Initial testing will take place in Abruzzo, with the aim of making the solutions replicable in other regions.

Objectives

Connect data

Foster the exchange and integration of information across health, veterinary, environmental and production systems.

Strengthen prevention

Develop artificial intelligence models to identify correlations and early signs of health risks.

Support decision-making

Build dashboards and alert tools for operators and institutions.

Make the most of existing data

Make the data already collected by the partners' systems usable in an integrated way.

Responsible innovation

Develop solutions that prioritise security, data protection and the explainability of results.

Farm4Trade's contribution

Farm4Trade brings to the project its artificial intelligence technologies for the livestock supply chain: ADAL, ReaDOP and TailScan.

Activities include integrating and harmonising images and data generated by the company's systems, developing models to assess lesions detected at the abattoir, and analysing correlations with farm and environmental data.

Farm4Trade also takes part in testing the systems in operational settings and in integrating the alerts generated by its solutions into the OneHealth.AI platform.

The partnership

The project brings together five organisations with complementary expertise.

Beta 80 S.p.A. Software e Sistemi Lead partner

Information systems for emergency services and community healthcare; administrative and financial management of the project.

Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Abruzzo e del Molise "G. Caporale" – IZSAM

Scientific coordination, veterinary public health and development of the integrated platform.

Infoteam S.r.l.

Integration of environmental and fisheries supply chain data; cybersecurity.

Farm4Trade S.r.l.

Artificial intelligence and the use of livestock supply chain data.

Università degli Studi di Teramo

Veterinary expertise, epidemiological modelling and scientific validation.

Expected results

The project will deliver an integrated digital platform, predictive analytics models and early warning tools, to be tested on real use cases.

The expected outcome is a greater ability to connect information across sectors, recognise risk signals promptly and support prevention activities.

Project funding

OneHealth.AI is funded under the Abruzzo ERDF Regional Programme 2021-2027 (PR FESR Abruzzo 2021-2027), Priority I – Research, competitiveness and development, Intervention 1.1.1.2, which supports collaborative research and innovation projects by companies in the technological domains of the Abruzzo Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3) 2021-2027.

This project is carried out with European funds of the Abruzzo Region.
